Description
Gravois Planing Mill, one of the oldest architectural woodworking companies in the United States, is actively recruiting a candidate to work as a woodworking laborer and apprentice. We specialize in high-quality millwork, casework, cabinetry, and custom woodworking for both restoration and contemporary architectural projects. The ideal candidate will possess a willingness to learn woodworking techniques including blueprint reading, machine cutting, finishing and assembly but whose major responsibilities will be to complete manual labor including moving lumber and materials, sanding, driving a forklift, and helping maintain a safe and clean working environment.Key Requirements
- Be able to lift 50 lbs. without assistance
- Follow safety instructions
- Occasionally work with face respirator and safety goggles as required
- Reliable attendance

Gravois Planing Mill is seeking someone who is willing to be trained in all aspects of architectural woodworking, starting from the ground up. You will work with all departments including assembly, cutting, finishing, and shipping & receiving.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates should demonstrate attention to detail, reliable attendance, and a commitment to producing consistent, high-quality woodworking.

All work is completed on-site at our mill; no offsite work is required. We provide a stable shop environment, potential for cross-training, and the opportunity to work with an experienced team on projects that range from historic restoration to custom commissions.
