Description
This is a full-time, 9-month instructional position in the Agriculture Department.The ideal candidate for this position will have expertise in agricultural business and farm management, with the ability to teach courses related to farm and agribusiness operations, financial management, and agricultural decision-making. However, the college is also open to candidates with strengths in animal science or other related agricultural disciplines.
We are seeking a collaborative, student-focused educator who can contribute to the broader agriculture program and bring practical industry knowledge into the classroom. Teaching responsibilities will be aligned with the successful candidate's qualifications and experience, allowing flexibility to build upon individual areas of expertise while supporting program needs. T
he successful candidate will engage students in applied, career-focused learning aligned with regional agricultural industry needs and workforce demands. Other duties include curriculum development & revision, student advisement, assisting with student organization activities, student recruitment, committee participation, assessment of student learning, and related departmental and college responsibilities.
This position also carries potential for future program leadership responsibilities. The successful candidate will have opportunities to contribute to program coordination, curriculum planning, and departmental initiatives, with the possibility of serving in a program leadership role as part of longer-term succession planning, based on program needs and individual readiness.
Summer employment opportunities may be available based on institutional needs, funding availability, and program requirements. Participation in summer activities-such as land lab projects, student internship support, or course delivery-is considered separately from the academic year contract.
Minimum Requirements
* Must support the mission, vision, and values of NDSCS
* Minimum bachelor's degree in an agriculture related field with the ability to obtain a master's degree within 5 years
* Demonstrated competency in one or more of the following areas
* Agriculture business and sales
* Applied farm financial management
* Commodity marketing
* Agriculture communication and product marketing
* Agronomy
* Animal Science
* Demonstrate proficiency in the use of computer and Microsoft Office applications and digital tools in agriculture technology to support instruction and agriculture decision-making
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Motivated, self-directed, and able to work effectively and professionally with students, faculty, and staff in a team setting.
* Valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications
* Master's degree or higher in a related Agriculture field
* Successful college or secondary teaching experience in Farm Management related areas
* Demonstrated competency in other agriculture topics such as animal science, agronomy, agriculture sales
* Career experience in an agriculture related field
* Demonstrated interest or experience in program coordination, leadership, or academic administration
* Holds current certification by North Dakota Department of Career and Technical Education.
SALARY: $59,163, commensurate with education and experience
