Police Officer-Lateral Transfer.

The Jeffersontown Civil Service Commission hereby gives notice of an application period for the position of Police Officer - Lateral Transfer.

Applications may be picked up from October 13, 2025 - November 14, 2025, at the Jeffersontown Police Department, . Applications will also be available online to download and print. The application can be found at the Jeffersontown Police Department's website) or under the Our Community tab on the City of Jeffersontown's website.

Applications must be returned by the filing deadline by dropping them off in person at the address listed above or delivered via the US Postal Service or other carrier. Mailed applications must be postmarked by the date of the filing deadline. Applications and all required documents may also be submitted electronically. The filing deadline is November 14, 2025.

The starting annual base salary for this position is $89,547.63. In addition to the base salary, Jeffersontown officers also receive an annual KLEFPF supplement of $4,562, and an annual education/military incentive of up to $1,800 depending on college credit. Total compensation upon your hire date is $94,109.63 - $95,909.63. All uniforms and equipment are provided and officers receive an annual uniform allowance of $1,368.36 after the first year of employment.

Applicants must have a minimum of five (5) full years of experience as a law enforcement officer and meet, or have the ability to meet, the requirements of the Peace Officer Professional Standards (POPS) Act administered by the Kentucky Law Enforcement Council.
